Adopting the idea of posting a "Still from today's edits" by our good friend David Meiklejohn at Budget Fabulous Films. Here's our first...
The last month has been filled with flights, train rides and road trips—some planned, some not so. In-between these adventures various commissioned work and personal projects have been checked off the seemingly endless list of To-Do's. Below are some photos of my adventures North, South, and West.
In other video news, I was psyched to learn that this year's Damnationland will be screened at the State Theater! Wicked cool, get your tickets soon. Also, Year-Round Metal Enjoyment is nearly done with production and soon to hit the cutting room. Hope to have an extended trailer out soon. Stay tuned. Sara Hallie Richardson's What Would It Be Like official music video is now live! There were a lot of firsts for us on this one—really pleased with the outcome. Cheers to a solid cast & crew. You can listen to more Sara here. I made a visit up to my good friend Jesse Pilgrims cabin last night. Dude lives in a beautiful corner of West Bath, in a super rad pad, surrounded by vintage bicycles and musical instruments. It was my first time visiting and a pleasure meeting some of the family kicking it around the infamous "barn of cycles". It reminded me of a music video we shot together on a road trip through Aroostook County some years ago. Brings back some nice memories with good friends. Jesse is also the musical artist on the most recent Mint Films television spot for Goodwill of Northern New England. I have yet to see it myself on the tube, but rumor has it she's gotten some play between Olympic events! ESNC presents "'96 Mentality" is a Portland Maine skate video, produced by a fellow co-worker of mine Jay Brown. This is a killer video with some talented skaters. I also dig it because I see a bunch of clips of my boy Ben Cironi shooting his own stuff like"Acclimation" on my old Canon GL2. Glad to see it's still shooting. Cheers boys. ALGORHYTHMS – JURNE & MWM A collaborative painting series. A new series of canvas paintings celebrating the constant interplay, symmetry, and conflicts found through juxtaposing abstract compositions with modern calligraphy. These collaborative pieces are snapshots of conversations between JURNE and MWM, cross sections of dialogue, catalogued thoughts, and discussions on content and context. A year-long discourse, in the paint form, between two prolific artists working in adjacent disciplines. Enjoy. Mint is proud to announce our latest endeavor... Year-round Metal Enjoyment! This is a documentary about New England, vandalism, and an obsession with trains. Year-round Metal Enjoyment follows several freight train graffiti artists into a world of steel and spray while exploring the Northeast's many ties to the railroad earth. With over a year and a half of shooting (and counting), more than a dozen interviews from some of the area's most notorious artists, as well as railfans and workers, Mint Films gives an in-depth look into this obscure and elusive world. |
